Come support local agriculture at the Long Island CSA Fair! Find the program that’s right for you!
If the Covid pandemic has taught us anything, it is that our food system is in desperate need of repair, and that our local farmers are some of the biggest heroes of the day!
To help consumers compare the different CSA programs, NOFA-NY (Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York), Slow Food North Shore and iEat Green are bringing all of the farmers together in one place to meet with potential customers and to make connections at the Long Island CSA Fair on Saturday, March 13th! (Raindate, Sunday, March 14th)
Over 20 farms from across Long Island will be participating. This will be a great opportunity to meet the farmers, and to learn more about each individual CSA program, allowing you to choose the perfect program that suits your family’s needs. CSA’s are one of the best ways to get fresh organic produce at fair prices! We all know that eating more fruits and vegetables, and supporting local, sustainable agriculture, is great for your health, the planet, and our local economy.
The CSA fair will be hosted outdoors, (adhering to all CDC and NYS COVID Guidelines) at the Sisters of St. Joseph Farm, 1725 Brentwood Road, behind Building #4, Brentwood, Long Island, from 11:00am – 3:00pm on Saturday, March 13th, with Sunday, March 14th as the raindate. The fair is free and open to all who are interested. You can come for a few minutes, or stay for the whole time! (Best to use 104 Second Ave entrance!)
The Long Island Green Street Food Truck will be there serving delicious, vegan and gluten free foods, along with Mikes Knife Sharpening Service, so bring your knives! Live music, too!
